What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also known as ‘Nose job’, is a cosmetic procedure that improves the shape and dimensions of the nose to make it appear more aesthetically pleasing and well-formed. The nose is one of the most important organs on the face, and structural and shape-related deformations have a significant impact on the overall aesthetic appearance.

Height, size, the shape of the nostrils, and the width of the nose can all be adjusted to fit the face with rhinoplasty procedures. Damages and complications that occurred due to sports and other events, as well as birth-related issues, can all be corrected by our skilful team here at Clinicera.

Ultrasonic rhinoplasty is a more advanced form of nose surgery that has recently gained a lot of popularity. The piezoelectricity theory is used in ultrasonic rhinoplasty.

It makes use of ultrasonic sound waves to allow for accurate, graded bone removal without causing thermal or mechanical damage to the soft tissue or mucosa around it. More significantly, the fracture lines created by PEIs are accurate, reducing the chance of radiating fracture lines that may occur when using traditional rhinoplasty instruments.

What are the Benefits of Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty?

Post-operative bruises are less likely to be permanent with ultrasonic rhinoplasty. Since it does not damage the soft tissues lining the blood vessels and cartilages, the nose heals faster and with less discomfort than conventional rhinoplasty.

Operators use piezoelectricity to cut nasal bones in a very sensitive, precise, and regulated manner without destabilizing them. Here are few additional advantages of ultrasonic rhinoplasty:

  • Soft tissue damage is reduced because it is gentle on the nasal bone.
  • Because of the more precise cuts, the fixed lines look more sculpted.
  • The post-operational healing period is shorter.
  • The end results are more natural-looking, healthy, and long-lasting.
  • The need for revision surgery and the likelihood of complications is also greatly reduced.

The Operation Process of Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty

The appropriate blood samples and general anaesthesia checks will be conducted before surgery. After the examinations, an anesthesiologist checks the patients, and if no conditions pose a challenge to the procedure, they are ready to proceed.

The Ultrasonic rhinoplasty surgery takes two to four hours to complete and is done under general anaesthesia. It is suggested that the patients be kept under surveillance for the night.

Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty Post-Surgery Process

If the patient’s nasal bone structure is reshaped, a thermoplastic splint will be applied after the surgery. If the operation’s goal is to correct a bent nose, the operator will use a silicone tamponade instead. Patients should remove the thermoplastic splint and silicone tamponade after 7-8 days from surgery.

We strongly advise applying ice compression under the eyes to relieve swelling in the first few days after surgery. After rhinoplasty surgery, patients must use a nasal spray containing seawater for three months to assist with swelling reduction and intranasal washing. For six weeks, the nose should be covered.

Patients should therefore avoid sleeping on their faces or wearing eyeglasses. Please contact our experts for more information.
