What Is Breast Lifting Surgery?
Breast Lifting; Some women are unhappy with the size and appearance of their breasts, which can harm their self-esteem and motivation. As a result, breast lifting surgery remains to be one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures.
A breast lift, also called “mastopexy,” is a plastic surgery procedure that improves the shape of the breasts. During a breast lift, breast tissue is reshaped to expand the breasts, and the excess skin is removed. The results are less saggy, sculpted and contoured breasts.
Breast lifting surgery would not result in a significant increase in breast size. So if you are aiming to get a bigger breast boost, please consider a combination with breast augmentation. At Clinicera, our cosmetic surgeons are experts in various breast surgery types, so we make sure that you get the best results possible.
Are You A Suitable Candidate for Breast Lifting Surgery?
A breast lift may lift the nipples and the darkened region around them, reducing sagging and elevating the angle of the nipples (areolae). The size of the areolae will also be reduced during the procedure to keep them in proportion to the freshly formed breasts. You may consider a breast lift if you have the following conditions:
- Your breasts sag, either because they lose their shape and length or because they are flat and long.
- When your breasts aren’t supported, your nipples move behind your breast folds.
- Your areolae and nipples both point inward.
- Your areolae is disproportionately large in comparison to your breasts.
Operation Process of Breast Lifting Surgery
Smoking reduces blood flow to the skin and can cause the healing process to be slowed. If you smoke, your surgeon will advise you to stop smoking before the surgery. The surgeon may place the incisions around the darkened area surrounding the nipples is the areolae, extending the areolae down to the breast creases, or in the creases of the breasts, horizontally.
If required, your surgeon can use stitches to reshape your breast tissue and reduce the size of your areolae deep within your breasts. They may strip extra breast tissue and bring the nipples up higher in the chest.
The surgeon would either use stitches, surgical tape, or tissue adhesives to seal the incisions to bring the skin of the breast together. This process usually lasts two to three hours, and you can be discharged on the same day.
Breast Lifting Surgery Post Operation Process
During a breast lift, a bandage and a surgical support bra will be used to protect the breasts. To extract the excess blood or fluid, small tubes may be inserted into the breasts at the incision points. Your breasts will swell and bruise for about two weeks.
Numbness in the breasts, areolae, and breast skin will last up to six weeks. Wear the surgical support bra around the clock every three to four days.
After that, you’ll be required to wear a comfortable support pad for three to four weeks. At first, the scars will look red and lumpy. While scars are permanent, they can smooth out and become thin and white in one to two years.
